In this talk I will discuss my investigations into a certain class of heavy-light four quark states (tetraquarks) from lattice QCD. I will walk us through some of my earlier determinations and my current attempts to address their systematic uncertainties. Along the way I will introduce heavy-quark tuning strategies and their impact on these calculations, and finally discuss what I perceive to be the future for measurements of these quantities.
