Description
Dark matter direct detection is dominated by a landscape of macroscopic detectors. How then can quantum sensors, such as an atom interferometer compete? In this talk I will outline recent work on how large coherent enhancements amplify dark matter signals in an atom interferometer. All of the necessary theory is elementary quantum mechanics, and yet the role of N-enhancements is subtle, due to the many-branched nature of an atom intereferometer's wave function.
