Description
regular biweekly meeting
Participants: AS, CS, KB, DZ Report from UoM (NC) No report as Neal not present. Report from OSU (HK) No report as Harris not present. Report from Valencia (CS, KB) Carles managed to shorten the time between the trigger from ASIC (VATA64-HDR16) and the signal for the comparator. Tried with GP7 but it did not work. Will try to add another threshold to get it work with GP7 (currently trigger signal is always above the threshold). The problems with images of the phantom that Karol reported last time were solved by increasing statistics. Current trend is that all the curves merge together (probe has little difference) except close to the probe where contrast is improved. Karol will post a short report at the Indico page. Karol is also working on classification of events and how the time window influences number of random & multiple coincidences etc. but no results available yet. Report from Ljubljana (AS) Andrej is still working on resolution studies for different data types (4 types of events: 1 mm or 1.4 mm Si with or without BGO). He compared variance vs. resolution curves for real and measured data. Based on the timing curves he estimated that 30% of the real data were background. Tried to simulate the background using various models but different background simulations didn’t give significantly different results (variance vs. resolution curves). A report available at the Indico page (new results from page 8). No new results on diodes with gain.
