Karol presented his new results on impact of probe on image quality. They include a 5 times more statistics and give more consistent results than previously. The only improvement due to the addition of the probe is observed in hot/warm contrast at 27 mm probe distance. Ideal value for hot/warm contrast is 4, for warm/cold 1 and for SQR is 0. His previous studies show that resolution improvement is also only noticeable for row 1 (27 mm).

Report from Ljubljana (AS)
Andrej studied influence of smoothing depending on the iteration # where smoothing is introduced. Large infuence of the iteration # can be observed, greatly affecting the noise advantage factor of the Si-BGO data.
Andrej also studied point source data (from 2010) and found out that simulation gives better resolution than actual measurements (broader center and larger tails). Using an improved simulation that added block effect (to broaden the center) and scattering (for the tails) he managed to get a good agreement with the measured data using block effect value of 1.5 and scatter ratio of 0,31. The conclusion is that the actual resolution of BGO better fits crystal size of 9 mm than 6 mm.

Andrej posted Milan’s poster for IEEE meeting to the Indico page. As Milan will not go to Seul it would be great if someone going there could present it.
