Karol reported on results of a simulation using a NEMA PET scatter phantom. He studied effect of coincidence time windows on contributions of different event types (trues, randoms, multiples, …) using 4 different time windows (4 ns – 20 ns) and 3 different activities (1 mCi, 5 mCi and 10 mCi). He also studied the influence of the low energy threshold in the probe (using 10 ns coincidence window). No conclusions formed so far.

Andrej checked the effect of smoothing the sinogram instead of the image. No definite conclusions on comparison of sinogram smoothing approach to image smoothing one so far. Full report available at the Indico page.
